“Lots of people talk to animals…. Not very many listen, though…. That’s the problem.”  -Benjamin Hoff, The Tao of Pooh.

When my daughter, Lil C, and I spend time outside, she squeals with delight when she hears the birds chirp and the squirrels chatter. Even when Lil C is busy stomping in a puddle, if she hears an animal speak, she stops whatever she is doing and she listens.

So, in my attempt to pay more attention and listen, this week’s blog is dedicated to the animals who share our backyard. Of course, since the arrival of our daughter, our “furry” children are most deserving and most lacking in attention. This painting is for Putty and Olive.

Acrylic on canvas and digital sketching with the Touchever.
